Mohra Sharif – A Sanctuary of Divine Love and Nisbat-e-Rasooliﷺ

Housed in the serene pine forests of the Murree Hills, Mohra Sharif stands as a luminous center of Sufi spirituality, divine remembrance, and love for the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Established in the late nineteenth century, Mohra Sharif is the center of the profound philosophy of Nisbat-e-Rasooli ﷺ—a path that seeks closeness to Allah through complete devotion, love, and following sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ.

The spiritual journey of Mohra Sharif began with Ghaus-ul-Ummat Hazrat Pir Muhammad Qasim Sahib (Baba Ji Sarkar) (رحمتہ اللہ علیہ), a saint of exceptional spiritual rank, whose deep devotion, ascetic life, and tireless efforts laid the foundation of this sacred center. His spiritual struggles and unwavering focus on the Oneness of Allah transformed a remote forest into a beacon of faith, guidance, and divine mercy.

This sacred mission was carried forward by Ghos-ul-Moazzam, Rahbar-e-Azam Silsila Nisbat Rasooli, Aala Hazrat Al-Haaj Pir Nazir Ahmed Sahib (Sarkar Mohrvi) (رحمتہ اللہ علیہ), who articulated and established the philosophy of Nisbat-e-Rasooliﷺ  as the core of the Sufi path—calling seekers beyond sectarian divisions toward the moral, spiritual, and practical example of the Prophet ﷺ. His teachings emphasized humility, unity, self-purification, and service to humanity.

Under the leadership of Sher Shah Ghazi, Salaar-e-Aala Silsila Nisbat Rasooli, Al-Haaj Pir Haroon-ur-Rashid Sahib (رحمتہ اللہ علیہ), Mohra Sharif expanded its spiritual reach across continents. Known for his deep adherence to the Sunnah and lifelong devotion, he transformed Mohra Sharif into a global spiritual powerhouse. Pir Haroon-ur-Rasheed Sahib (رحمتہ اللہ علیہ) authored a Tafseer of the Holy Qur’an titled Haqaeq-ul-Qur’an, in which the verses of the Qur’an are explained through the spiritual lens of Nisbat-e-Rasooli ﷺ, highlighting a unique perspective rooted in love and devotion to the Holy Prophet ﷺ.

Dr. Ghulam Muhammad Gohar Nazir Gohar Sahib and Shahzada Ghulam Muhammad Jamal Nazir Sahib are the sons of Sher Shah Ghazi Al-Haaj Pir Haroon Rasheed Sahib (رحمتہ اللہ علیہ). Following the continuation of the spiritual lineage, the leadership was entrusted to Khadim-e-Islam, Qutb-ul-Irshad, Ameer Silsila Nisbat Rasooli  ﷺ, Al-Haaj Dr. Ghulam Muhammad Gohar Nazir Gohar Sahib, who has since been serving the Ummah through spiritual guidance, social welfare initiatives, and dedicated service to humanity, in accordance with the philosophy of Nisbat-e-Rasooli ﷺ.

Today, under the guidance of Al-Haaj Pir Dr. Gohar Nazir Gohar, Mohra Sharif continues to flourish as a living Sufi institution—harmonizing deep spirituality with selfless service and ancient tradition with modern understanding. The spiritual calendar of the Darbar is marked by significant gatherings of devotion and remembrance.

Central to these are the two major annual URS congregations: the grand gathering in June commemorates the legacies of Aala Hazrat Al-Haaj Pir Nazeer Ahmed Sahib (رحمتہ اللہ علیہ) and Sher Shah Ghazi Hazrat Pir Haroon-ur-Rashid Sahib (رحمتہ اللہ علیہ), while the November URS is dedicated to the founder, Ghous-ul-Ummat Hazrat Baba Ji Muhammad Qasim Sahib (رحمتہ اللہ علیہ).

In addition to these grand festivals, the Darbar observes solemn days of Quran Khawani (recitation) for the Esal-e-Sawab (spiritual benefit) of the Holy Mashaikh. Every year on the 16th and 17th of January, a special assembly is held in honor of the sacrifices and devotion of the Great Mothers (Ummahat) of the Central Darbar-e-Aalia Mohra Sharif and Silsila Nisbat Rasooli ﷺ. This is followed by a commemorative gathering on February 28th for the “Sher Shah Ghazi,” Hazrat Pir Haroon-ur-Rashid Sahib (رحمتہ اللہ علیہ), and another on July 23rd in blessed memory of Aala Hazrat Pir Nazeer Ahmed (رحمتہ اللہ علیہ).The weekly spiritual rhythm of the order remains a source of constant nourishment for seekers. Every Friday, the soulful Mehfil-e-Aurad-e-Naziriya is held at the central Darbar in Mohra Sharif, Murree, while every Saturday, the light of this gathering is extended to the capital at Aastana Alia, Islamabad, located on Old Embassy Road. Through these circles of remembrance and recitation, the connection between the seeker and the Divine remains ever-vibrant.
