All Praise Is for Allah
All praise is for Allah. Countless thanks to Allah Almighty, the Master of the Kingdom, Who has once again granted us the opportunity and privilege to gather here for His pleasure, in His remembrance and in His love.
Millions and billions of blessings and peace be upon the Leader of the Prophets, the Beloved of Allah, Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (PBUH), through whose blessed intercession and grace this favor has been bestowed upon us.
Dear listeners! As is our usual practice, we shall begin the recitation of the blessed litanies. Before doing so, however, it is necessary to understand one or two things.
Allah Almighty has said:
يٰٓاَيُّھَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَكُوْنُوْا مَعَ الصّٰدِقِيْنَ
(آیت نمبر 119 : سورۃ التوبہ)
Translation: O believers! Fear Allah and be with the truthful.
Dear listeners! The scholars have explained and interpreted this blessed verse in different ways. Each one has tried, according to his understanding and knowledge, to derive benefit from this verse and explain its lessons.
Its literal meaning is what I have just stated: O people who believe, be with the truthful.
Now three things require our consideration: Who are the believers? Who are the truthful? And in what matter are they commanded to be with them?
A believer is one who sincerely accepts that our Lord and Creator is Allah, the Pure and Holy One, Who is One and without partner. He created us, and our lives should be lived according to His will, in the manner taught to us by His Final Messenger, the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
To live one’s life according to the pleasure of Allah, to enter wholeheartedly and completely into servitude to Allah, and to live according to the noble example of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)—this belief and practice constitute faith.
Such people have been commanded that those who believe in Allah and His Messenger (PBUH) should remain in the company of such people in order to understand Allah’s commands and act upon them.
This does not mean merely being with them outwardly or claiming it with the tongue and heart. Rather, it means establishing such a complete bond with them that you become familiar with the conduct of those truthful people who are beloved and accepted by Allah, and your own actions and thoughts should begin to resemble theirs.
Who Are the Truthful?
Who are the truthful?
They are those who accepted Allah with their tongues and then proved through their actions that they were truly His servants.
They entrusted the consequences of all matters to the will of Allah, placed their trust in Him, did what Allah commanded them to do, and refrained from what He prohibited—even when doing so required them to sacrifice their lives, wealth, or children.
History bears witness that the Companions of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (RA) accepted him as their master in such a manner that they considered him dearer to themselves than their lives, wealth, children, mothers, and fathers.
Through their actions during the difficult life in Makkah, the Migration, and then at Badr, Uhud, and other places, they demonstrated the truth of their love. They proved that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was dearer to them than their parents, children, lives, and wealth.
After the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), remain with his blessed Companions (RA), and after them, with those servants of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) who, throughout the generations until the Day of Judgment, will remain a means of guidance for humanity.
Stay with these truthful people. This means that you should develop such love and such a relationship with them that the same love for Allah and His Messenger (PBUH) which exists within their hearts also enters your heart.
Then, together with them, engage in those deeds which are essential for your own salvation and success.
For example, when they go forth with the sword to sacrifice themselves for the cause of the religion of truth, be with them.
When they enter the field to teach the truth and to act upon the truth, be with them.
And when they gather together to remove the rust from their hearts through the remembrance of Allah, be with them.
Whatever sacrifice may be required for attaining the rewards of Allah, offer it immediately. In this way, sacrifice everything necessary and prove yourself to be truthful.
The True Servant Gives Preference to the Remembrance of Allah
People attending this gathering! Prayers and devotional practices can also be performed while sitting comfortably at home. But when one remains at home, personal comfort and worldly considerations can become involved.
To become a true servant and a sincere bondsman of Allah, you must prove through your actions that, in your heart, nothing is more important than the remembrance of Allah.
Whenever such an opportunity arises, you should be able to sacrifice everything for the love and remembrance of Allah.
This gathering of the blessed litanies is for those people who leave behind their comfort and even their necessary worldly tasks in order to gather here.
In this way, they prove themselves truthful in their claim that they consider Allah and His Messenger (PBUH) more precious and important than everything else.
When the call comes to remember Allah, neither their children can keep them at home, nor the love of their wives, nor even those necessary worldly matters which Satan repeatedly places into their minds as doubts and fears.
Satan whispers to them:
“Your work will suffer. You will be deprived of the comforts of life. Why waste your time by leaving your necessary duties and coming here like mad people? You can remember Allah while sitting at home.”
Yet none of these whispers could deter those whose hearts were drawn to the blessed light of Muhammad, peace be upon him, from coming.
Their conviction remained that both good and evil are in the hands of Allah Almighty.
Whatever sacrifice we make for His remembrance will bring glad tidings for us in both this world and the Hereafter.
And whatever we neglect for the sake of worldly matters, while becoming heedless of Allah, will ultimately become a cause of our destruction.
These are the truthful people who have sacrificed everything for the remembrance of Allah and gathered here, thereby proving themselves truthful.
We have been commanded to spend time in the company of such people and to remember Allah together with them.
Those who believe in Allah Almighty and His Messenger (PBUH) should therefore thank Allah and begin His remembrance with this understanding and conviction.
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Orad-e-Naziriyah Sharif were recited, followed by supplication.
