In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

All praise is for Allah.

Countless thanks are due to Allah, the Lord of all kingdoms, who once again granted us the opportunity and ability to gather here today in His remembrance, for His pleasure and out of love for Him. Millions and millions of blessings and salutations be upon the Leader of the Prophets, the Beloved of Allah, حضرت محمد مصطفیٰ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم, through whose grace this blessing has been bestowed upon us.

Respected listeners! Allah Almighty says in the Holy Qur’an:

(Surah Az-Zumar, Verse 53)

Translation:

“O Muhammad ﷺ, tell them: O My servants who have wronged their own souls, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Surely Allah forgives all sins; indeed, He is the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.”

This is a very profound matter to understand. If a person disobeys another human being, opposes them, or behaves disrespectfully toward them, then the offender must try to please that person again—even if they are parents who are extremely kind. Yet even then there is no certainty that they will be pleased.

However, Allah Almighty, whose status is incomparable and exalted, and who has countless favors upon human beings, says to those who have committed wrong: do not despair of My mercy. Do not think that I have become permanently angry with you. I never like to see you in hardship. I want your welfare and goodness. Come to My door and seek forgiveness for your past sins; I will forgive you. Forgiveness and kindness are My very work. How great is His mercy and compassion—truly unparalleled is this Lord full of mercy and grace.

Another point in this divine command is that when a human being commits a mistake, it does not harm Allah in any way. Therefore, all the laws established by Allah are actually for the benefit of human beings. Acting upon them leads to one’s own success and well-being. Everything that the Lord of the worlds has created is for the comfort, benefit, and happiness of humanity. All worldly blessings are for human beings as well. Humans were created to worship Allah, and even in this worship lies the benefit of humans themselves: through it they gain freedom from sins, the darkness of the heart is removed, worldly and religious obstacles are eliminated, and a sense of spiritual joy and peace is attained. In this way, a person also becomes deserving of the rewards that Allah has prepared for the life after death.

Respected attendees! The essence of this discussion is that it is Allah’s great favor that He created us and granted us everything. Then He also gathered us here to thank Him and remember Him. Therefore, no person should ever think that they have done something great by making the effort to come here for the remembrance of Allah. Rather, it is Allah’s favor that He granted the ability to perform good deeds and promised to reward them many times over. So let us begin the worship of the Most Merciful and Most Kind Lord with the conviction that through this remembrance Allah will forgive our sins, grant us dislike for sins and negligence, and bless us with such love for His pure Being that everything else appears insignificant before His remembrance.

Respected listeners! These matters cannot truly be understood merely through explanation; they are felt within the heart. In a Hadith it is stated that a person experiences the sweetness of faith when three qualities are found in them:

That Allah and His Messenger are more beloved to them than their life, wealth, children, parents, and everything else.

That they dislike returning to disbelief just as they would dislike being thrown into the fire of Hell.

That they love others purely for the sake of Allah.

Alhamdulillah, the attendees of this gathering are blessed with these three qualities.

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Aurad-e-Naziriya Sharif were recited and a prayer was made.
