In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
All praise belongs to Allah.
We are deeply grateful to Allah Almighty that the Master of the universe has once again granted us the opportunity and the ability to gather here for His pleasure, in His remembrance, and in love for Him. Millions and millions of blessings and salutations be upon the Leader of the Prophets, the Beloved of Allah, Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (peace and blessings be upon him), through whose blessing this grace has been bestowed upon us.
Respected listeners! Allah Almighty says in the Holy Qur’an:
(Surah Al-Kahf, Verse 110)
Translation:
“Whoever hopes to meet his Lord should perform righteous deeds and should not associate anyone in the worship of his Lord.”
This is a very subtle and profound matter. Whenever a person intends to do something, many tasks stand before him, and he faces the question of which task should be done first. When the opportunity for the worship of Allah, the One without partner, arises, the same question appears before him: should he occupy himself with worship or turn towards his other needs such as his children, parents, relatives, friends, or even his own personal matters?
It is at this point that the reality of a person’s faith becomes evident. If his faith is strong and complete, he immediately decides that he will worship the One without partner and attain eternal happiness. But if his faith is weak, he postpones worship. The love of children, the love of parents, and the love of wealth and worldly possessions overpower him and divert him toward themselves.
Allah Almighty says that whoever hopes that a day will come when he will meet Me should give priority to My worship. He should keep hope in My court and should not associate any other desire or love with the desire for My worship. Otherwise, he will remain at loss in both this world and the Hereafter. Any task done while abandoning worship never truly reaches completion, whereas any worldly honor sacrificed for the sake of Allah manifests results in both religion and worldly life in such a way that a person could never even imagine.
Prophet Sulaiman (peace be upon him) had magnificent horses for riding. One day he became so occupied with them that his prayer was missed. He felt deep remorse. Out of his devotion to Allah, he ordered the legs of those horses to be cut. People thought that now he had deprived himself of riding animals. But the result of that sacrifice for the sake of Allah was that Allah made the wind subservient to him, which could cover a distance of a month’s journey in a single day.
Dear attendees! We gather here for the worship of Allah. Therefore, if any worldly need becomes an obstacle to attending here or engaging in worship, we should understand that it is the effort of Satan. Such obstacles should immediately be sacrificed, and we should present ourselves sincerely before Allah.
Just as clothes need washing, the heart also needs to be cleansed. The way to cleanse the heart is through the remembrance of Allah and through His beautiful names. A Hadith states that when a person commits sins due to heedlessness, a stain appears on his heart. If he cleans it through repentance, it is fine. But if the heedlessness continues, the heart begins to rust until eventually the entire heart becomes dark. At that stage, the love of Allah disappears and the love of the world dominates, and in this way a person falls into clear loss.
It is a great favor of Allah that He gathers us purely for His remembrance and for repentance before Him. So come, let us begin the remembrance of Allah so that the rain of the Master’s mercy may descend upon us.
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Then Aurad-e-Naziriya Sharif were recited and supplication (dua) was made.
