The Almighty Allah be praised that the Master of All Sovereignty once again granted us today the opportunity to gather in His remembrance and pleasure. Millions and billions of blessings and salutations upon the Leader of the Prophets, the Beloved of Allah, Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa, peace and blessings be upon him, through whom this grace has been granted.
Respected listeners! Allah Almighty has said in the Holy Qur’an:
Translation
“We said, ‘Go down from here, all of you. Then, whenever guidance comes to you from Me, whoever follows My guidance shall have no fear, nor shall they grieve. And those who disbelieve and deny Our signs—they are the people of the Fire; they shall remain therein forever.’”
(Surah Al-Baqarah, verses 38–39)
In these blessed verses, Allah Almighty has described the entire history of humankind, but this is a matter that requires understanding.
Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him) is the father of all humankind, the first human being, and the vicegerent of Allah Almighty. The guidance given to him is for all of humanity, and his way is the Straight Path for the entire world.
Allah Almighty, through His grace and benevolence, created him and bestowed upon him the distinction of being the noblest of all creation. He commanded all the angels to prostrate before him. All of them obeyed the command, but the one who had been their teacher, who belonged to the jinn, refused. Consequently, he was condemned to be accursed forever. This is a long story.
Thereafter, he became an enemy of humankind. He could not bear the honor, greatness, and dignity bestowed upon human beings, and he was determined to find a way to deprive them of their blessings and achieve success for himself.
When Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him) committed a lapse, he became deeply distressed and could not understand how to remedy his predicament. The other conditions for forgiveness had been fulfilled: he felt ashamed, regretted his mistake, and made a firm resolve that, from then on, he would spend his life obeying Allah’s commands. However, he did not know the way through which his forgiveness could be accepted.
But Allah Almighty is the Most Gracious and the Most Merciful. Whenever a servant turns to Him, His forgiveness and mercy encompass that servant. The Holy Quran tells us that, at such a time, Allah Almighty taught Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him) certain words through which He accepted his repentance.
What were those words? They consisted of praising Allah Almighty, acknowledging one’s humility before Him, sending blessings upon the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, and seeking his intercession.
Then the command was given: “Go now and dwell in the world. My guidance will continue to reach you. Whoever among your descendants follows it will have neither grief nor worry, and even this world will become a paradise for them. But whoever disbelieves and persists in denial at the instigation of Satan will become deserving of everlasting punishment.”
Respected attendees! All praise be to Allah Almighty, for through the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, we have received the Holy Quran. In the Quran, we have been taught how to seek forgiveness for our sins from the Master of the Kingdom and how to attain freedom from the sorrows of this world and the Hereafter and receive all the blessings of Allah Almighty.
No matter how much we thank Allah Almighty in this world and the Hereafter, it will never be enough, for today, the Master has granted us the ability to engage in His remembrance. We gather here to remember Him, praise and glorify Him, and send blessings upon the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family.
Therefore, during this practice in this gathering, keep its purpose in your heart and pray:
“O Allah Almighty! We are prone to making mistakes. Through Your sacred names and by the intercession of Your Beloved Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, we seek Your forgiveness for our mistakes. Bestow Your mercy upon us, just as You bestowed Your mercy upon our forefather. Bless us with Your pleasure, Your love, and true servitude to Your Beloved Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family. Relieve us of every sorrow and worry, and grant us everlasting comfort, honor, and happiness.”
Now, let us begin.
