Speech of Hazrat Pir Sahib RA Dated: 10 February 1985

Speech No 2:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

All praise is for Allah.

Endless thanks be to Allah Almighty, the Lord of all kingdoms, that today once again He granted us the opportunity and ability to gather here for His pleasure, in His remembrance, and in love for Him. Millions and billions of blessings and salutations be upon the Leader of the Prophets, the Beloved of Allah, Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (peace and blessings be upon him), through whose grace this favor has come.

Respected listeners! Today is a time when many people are bound by their difficulties, and many are absorbed in their worldly joys. But those servants of God whose hearts are filled with the love of Allah—whose eyes find light and whose hearts find peace in the remembrance of Allah—have neither the time to be disturbed by worldly troubles nor to be occupied with the attractions and charms of this world. Rather, their entire lives, and even thousands of lives, seem insufficient for the remembrance of Allah.

It is narrated that Hazrat Bibi Fatimah al-Zahra (peace be upon her) would spend the long winter nights in prostration, keeping her blessed head on the ground all night. When the call to prayer (Adhan) of the morning would be heard, she would sigh softly and say:
“O Lord of all kingdoms! Grant me just one night so long that I may remember You to my heart’s content.”

O friends! Gathering weekly in the remembrance of Allah is a great blessing from Allah. Otherwise, there are people among us who consider it a very difficult task. They give such importance to worldly matters that they think spending a few hours in this gathering will cause them to lose many valuable opportunities. But remember—this is not the truth. Rather, Satan has placed a veil of worldly love over their hearts and eyes.

Otherwise, they would realize:
Who gave them this intellect?
Who gave them this wealth?
Who gave them these strengths?
Who gave them children?
Who granted them honor and occupation?

Just as they value the gifts more than the One who gave them, if the Majestic Giver becomes displeased, what will become of their wealth, their honor, and even their lives?

Worldly people may not feel the need for such gatherings, but every page of history bears witness that worldly prosperity does not last forever.

Persian verse:
“From those golden bricks of Shaddad and ‘Aad,
What remained except the destined death?”

O people! Allah Almighty has created life and death as a test to see who performs good deeds. The first and best deed is to have faith and trust in the remembrance of Allah. The one who trusts Allah believes that the difficulties of both religion and worldly life are resolved through the remembrance of Allah. At the time of remembering Allah, such a person is not restless about worldly affairs. Instead, love, certainty, and reliance on Allah increase in their hearts. Such a person is truly a believer.

But if someone’s heart does not incline toward the remembrance of Allah and becomes anxious that worldly matters may be harmed, then this is a sign of hypocrisy. One should immediately repent sincerely and reform oneself.

Allah Almighty says (Surah Al-Anfal, Verse 2 –

translation):
“When Allah is mentioned, the hearts of the believers tremble, their faith increases, and their trust in Allah grows. Everything is in the control of the All-Powerful. Nothing can be ruined by His remembrance; rather, it becomes even better than what a person imagines.”

In a blessed Hadith it is mentioned:
“If you trust in Allah as He deserves to be trusted, He will provide for you just as He provides for the birds: they leave their nests in the morning with empty stomachs and return in the evening full. And through your prayers, even mountains could be moved from their places.”

This is the statement of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). It is true and just. Whoever denies it steps outside the circle of Islam, and for the one who believes in it and acts upon it, what difficulty can remain? If mountains can be moved through prayer, then nothing is impossible.

Come, let us begin the remembrance of Allah with sincere hearts.

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

The Awrad-e-Naziriya Sharif were recited and a prayer was made.
