The Almighty Allah be praised that the Master of All Sovereignty once again granted us today the opportunity to gather in His remembrance and pleasure. Millions and billions of blessings and salutations upon the Leader of the Prophets, the Beloved of Allah, Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa, peace and blessings be upon him, through whom this grace has been granted.
Esteemed listeners! The Holy Quran states:
تَدْعُوْا مَنْ اَدْبَرَ وَتَوَلّٰى
(آیت نمبر 17 : سورۃ المعارج)
Translation:
The Fire will summon those who have turned away from the truth and rejected obedience. It will cry, “O hypocrite, come here! O polytheist, come to me!”
(Verse 17, Surah Al-Ma’arij).
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Fire will call the disbelievers and polytheists by name in a clear and eloquent voice. It will be a terrifying time; everyone will be anxious about their own fate. To be saved from such a time and to preserve one’s honor and dignity, one must make thorough preparation. The only true provision for that day is the remembrance of Allah. Those blessed people who remember Allah are under His protection in this world and in the hereafter. All of Allah’s creation honors them and comes to their aid. Everything in the universe is subject to Allah Almighty and is His servant. Therefore, whoever remembers Allah and keeps a living connection with Him becomes deserving of honor and respect in the eyes of all creation.
Abū Rajāʾ narrated that at the time when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) was sent, he used to tend the goats of his household and see to their daily needs. When the Prophet’s mission began, they fled from their tribe and came to a desolate wilderness, and by evening they had arrived. The elder of their tribe had a custom: whenever night fell upon them during a journey, and they had to spend the night in the wild, he would say, “Tonight, we seek the protection of the chief of this valley.” So, he said these words as usual. Then a voice came from the unseen, saying, “The only path to true protection is to affirm:
‘Lā ilāha illā Allāh, Muḥammadur Rasūlullāh.’ There is no other way.” When they heard this, they returned and embraced Islam.
Esteemed attendees of this gathering! The afflictions and troubles of today’s world have grown far greater than those of deserts and barren wilds. So, if one wishes to live in well-being and under protection, there is no refuge except in the remembrance of Allah Almighty. Otherwise, the world and all its power and wealth might appear sweet like a mirage. But when a person plunges into it by every means, lawful or unlawful, it soon becomes clear that it is actually a whirlpool, the greatest deception that destroys one’s life. Thus, one becomes so ensnared that it is said of him,
” نہ پائے رفتن نہ جائے ماندن”
‘Neither able to move forward nor able to remain where he is.
This does not mean that a person should give up all worldly matters and sit idle. Rather, the sole aim is to do every task with the intention that it is being done for the pleasure of Allah Almighty. In this way, the task itself becomes an act of worship, and success and honor are bestowed in it. To achieve success in these affairs, one should remain in the remembrance of Allah at all times. Whenever an opportunity to remember Allah arises, it should be regarded as a great blessing and joined wholeheartedly. Although Satan and the lower self may whisper that time will be wasted, this is a false notion.
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
In the blessed name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
The Awrād-e-Naẓīriyyah Sharīf were recited, and supplication was offered.
