Speech No. 16

﷽

All praise is for Allah.

Countless thanks to Allah Almighty that the Master of all kingdoms has once again granted us the opportunity and ability to gather here for His pleasure, in His remembrance, and in His love. Millions and millions of blessings and salutations be upon the Leader of the Prophets, the Beloved of Allah, Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (PBUH), through whose blessed mediation this favor has been bestowed upon us.

As usual, we shall begin the recitation of the sacred Awrad. Before that, there are some important matters that should be understood.

Always remember that understanding is the very quality because of which mankind became worthy of the prostration of the angels, and it is due to abandoning understanding that Allah Almighty said:

(Surah Al-A’raf, Verse 179):

اُولٰۗىِٕكَ كَالْاَنْعَامِ بَلْ هُمْ اَضَلّ

“They are like cattle; rather, they are even more astray.”

When a person remembers Allah with understanding and awareness in his heart, he attains a very high rank. However, if the heart moves without understanding, it is merely a physical condition, which doctors describe as palpitation of the heart.

It is essential for a person to understand himself, recognize the favors of his Lord, and reflect upon his deeds. Then, if all his actions are performed solely for the pleasure of Allah—living day and night in awe of Allah, taking every step with caution so that he does only those deeds that please his Lord and avoids every act displeasing to Him—such a person becomes beloved and close to Allah.

For such people, all sins are forgiven, and they receive a tremendous reward.

(Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 12):

اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ يَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُمْ بِالْغَيْبِ لَهُمْ مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَّاَجْرٌ كَبِيْرٌ

“Indeed, those who fear their Lord unsee………………..n—for them is forgiveness and a great reward.”

Thus, they receive two great blessings: first, forgiveness of sins, and second, a magnificent reward.

Man is prone to error. Allah’s favors upon him are so immense that even if a person were to remain in prostration throughout the entire night, he still could not fully express gratitude for them. At every step, human beings are liable to stumble, yet Allah Almighty purifies such people from all sins and makes them radiant with divine light.

The second reward is that Allah grants them their heartfelt desires; whatever they wish, Allah bestows upon them.

One might wonder that some of Allah’s devoted servants, who sacrificed their entire lives in His path, experienced great hardships at the time of their death. For example, Hazrat Mus’ab ibn Umair (RA) belonged to a noble and affluent family and was known for his elegance and fine appearance. However, after embracing Islam, he endured countless hardships. There was scarcely any trial that he did not face. The one who was once as delicate as a flower eventually wore a coarse blanket stitched with thorns. He migrated repeatedly for the sake of Allah and ultimately attained martyrdom.

When the Holy Prophet (PBUH) saw his condition, he uttered words of supplication and his blessed eyes filled with tears.

History also tells us that those who sacrificed themselves in the path of Allah were at times granted such exalted status that the world and its people were placed at their feet. All of this is because Allah grants His devoted servants what they truly desire.

Those individuals whose deaths may outwardly appear to us as full of suffering actually experience such sweetness and spiritual delight in those hardships for the sake of Allah that all the kingdoms of the world combined cannot equal even a fraction of it. They consider remaining in such trials to be the sovereignty of both worlds.

Allah grants such people ranks beyond imagination. The changes and transformations within the universe become dependent upon them by Allah’s permission.

Remaining hungry and thirsty for the pleasure of Allah, abandoning sleep and comfort in order to remain engaged in His remembrance, sacrificing home, family, relatives, and every worldly comfort for the sake of Divine Love, and wandering as a humble servant in Allah’s path—this, in reality, is true kingship, before which thousands of worldly kingdoms are insignificant.

What is necessary is that throughout this entire spiritual journey, a person continues to reflect:

“Who am I? Why have I adopted this way of life? What is the reality of this life that I have chosen? Are all my actions in accordance with this path? Are Satan and the lower self causing me to waver?”

The sacred Awrad are not only a means of asking Allah for all one’s needs, but they are also the foremost and greatest means of seeking steadfastness in His path. Therefore, they should be recited with this understanding and awareness.

Now, let us begin.

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

The Awrad-e-Naziriyah Sharif were then recited, and supplication was offered.
