اَ لْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ

The Almighty Allah be praised that the Master of All Sovereignty once again granted us today the opportunity to gather in His remembrance and pleasure. Millions and billions of blessings and salutations upon the Leader of the Prophets, the Beloved of Allah, Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa, peace and blessings be upon him, through whom this grace has been granted.

Respected listeners! Allah Almighty has said in the Holy Qur’an:

Translation

“Whoever desires the life of this world and its adornment, We shall fully repay them for their deeds in this world, and they shall not be deprived of anything therein. These are the ones who will have nothing in the Hereafter except the Fire. All that they did in this world will be in vain, and all that they used to do will be rendered worthless.”

(Surah Hud, verses 15–16)

In the interpretation of this sacred verse, the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, said that when a person’s intention in performing good deeds is to seek the Hereafter, Allah Almighty grants contentment to his heart in this world, fulfills his needs, and the world comes to him in a humbled state.

However, when a person’s intention is to seek worldly gains, Allah Almighty places a sense of need before him, and his needs are never fully satisfied, because the world itself never allows him to rest in peace. Before one need is fulfilled, another arises, and countless worries begin to trouble him. Ultimately, he receives only what Allah Almighty has destined for him.

After hearing this command of Allah Almighty and this explanation given by the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, it becomes absolutely clear that there are two types of people.

One type consists of those who forget the Hereafter, meaning that they either do not believe in it or do not consider it important. The world is deeply ingrained in every fiber of their being. Allah Almighty does not let the deeds of those who strive to acquire worldly gains go unrewarded; rather, He grants them their due reward. However, it is certain that even after obtaining what they seek, they remain deprived of the very thing they truly desire: peace of heart and inner tranquility.

They possess vast amounts of worldly wealth and are immersed in its riches and status, yet these very things, instead of bringing them comfort, become a source of torment for them. The more their wealth increases, the more their restlessness, dissatisfaction, and anxiety grow. Eventually, they become deprived even of sleep, which is essential for rest. In reality, they sell their conscience for these things and then become dependent upon them out of their own need.

On the other hand, there are those whose sole concern is the Hereafter. They, too, are in need, but they are dependent only upon their Master. The remembrance of their Master brings peace to their hearts. Their hearts become illuminated, and the world comes to them in a humbled state, falling at their feet. The very world for which its seeker wanders about, stumbling at every step, stumbles at the feet of such people.

Allah Almighty makes their hearts so content and self-sufficient that the entire world, in their eyes, is not worth even a mustard seed. They become so absorbed in the remembrance of their Master and their reliance upon Him that they have no worries. Spiritual delight and bliss become the treasure of their lives, and their departure from this world becomes, for them, an escape from captivity into a life of freedom in the nearness of their Master. Here, too, they rule over people’s hearts, and there, too, they attain honor and success.

Respected attendees! This is a precious life that every servant of Allah should strive to attain. What is the practice that leads to it? It is the remembrance of Allah, for which we have gathered here, leaving the world behind and turning away from our worldly attachments.

Remember! Our Master knows our needs better than we do ourselves. Therefore, whoever places his trust in Allah Almighty, the Master takes responsibility for fulfilling all his needs.

All praise be to Allah, for He has granted us this opportunity and the ability to benefit from it. Now, we should make use of this precious time and engage in this practice in such a way that our hearts turn towards Allah and, becoming entirely supplicant, plead before our Master:

“O Lord of all the worlds! Forgive us for our past mistakes. Remove the darkness from our hearts and illuminate them with the light of spiritual knowledge. Enrich us with Your love and the love of Your Beloved Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family. May Your love remain in our hearts, Your name remain upon our tongues, and may we spend our entire lives in this state and appear before You in the same condition.

O Allah! You created us, You granted us life, and You determined our needs. Through Your kindness, we entrust everything to You. Now, enable our hearts, minds, hands, and feet to act according to Your will.”

Keeping this very purpose in mind, let us begin.

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

The blessed Aurad-e-Naziriyah were recited, and supplication was made.
